Jeremy Neufeld
Jeremy Neufeld is the owner and head coach of Sunshine Functional Fitness. Jeremy is a Canadian native who moved to the U.S. in 2002 in order to study, train, and further his then passion, animals. He worked as a zookeeper from 1996-2018.
Over the past eight years his passion has morphed into wanting to empower the human animal to move better, feel better and live better. In that time he has acquired multiple fitness certifications from Kettlebell training, The American Council on Exercise (ACE), bodyweight and mobility training, and currently holds a CrossFit Level 2 Trainer Certificate. Jeremy has coached various exercise models in the Orlando area since 2012. He is also a WAG (Working Against Gravity) Certified Nutrition Coach. His diverse fitness background allowed him to narrow his focus down to functional fitness training to achieve his own fitness goals but also to effectively change people’s lives.
Katie Neufeld
Katie Neufeld is the First Lady and assistant to the owner at Sunshine Functional Fitness. Katie grew up in Central Florida, attending Lakeview Middle School and West Orange High School, here in Winter Garden, FL. She received a degree in Zoology from the University of Florida (GO GATORS!) and has been working as an animal keeper at Disney’s Animal Kingdom since 2015. Katie and Jeremy met working at Disney and bonded over some of their favorite animals, black rhinos and bongos.
Outside of work, Katie enjoys relaxing with the SFF mascot, her French Bulldog Duke, and spending time outdoors. She is currently enjoying maternity leave with Katie and Jeremy’s first child, Marsden.
Katie spent her childhood playing competitive soccer for 14 years and (almost) completing her Tae Kwon Do black belt. She is now working with her husband/built-in personal trainer to build up her strength and fitness after giving birth. Katie will support members with maintaining their health-focused lifestyle inside and outside the gym, including the nutritional and emotional side of health.
